Are you ready to explore an epic universe of sci-fi and fantasy? The OAC Warhammer Day is a creative and social space where you can build, paint, and play with amazing miniature models. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or have never picked up a paintbrush, our day is the perfect place to start. Who is this day for? This club is a safe and fun environment for children aged between 7 and 11, providing a great opportunity to meet new friends who share your passion and to develop your skills in a welcoming setting. What happens at the OAC Warhammer Day? The hobby is centered around five key activities, all of which will be covered on the day: Collecting: You'll start by choosing a faction to collect, such as futuristic space marines or ancient fantasy elves. This choice will be the foundation of your very own army. Building: Using clippers, glue, and a bit of patience, you will learn to assemble your models from individual plastic components. This activity is great for developing fine motor skills and following instructions. Painting: Once your models are built, you will bring them to life with paint! This is where your creativity can shine, as you choose a colour scheme and use various painting techniques to make your figures look fantastic. Playing: With your finished army, you'll learn to play tabletop miniature wargames. These games involve strategy and teamwork as you command your forces and roll dice to defeat your opponents. Popular game systems include Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000. Reading: The day also delves into the rich lore behind the game, encompassing the epic sagas of the Horus Heresy and the stories of the Mortal Realms. Why attend the Warhammer Day? Beyond the fun of the game, participating in a Warhammer offers numerous benefits: Educational skills: The hobby encourages creativity, improves literacy and maths skills through rules and scenarios, and helps develop fine motor skills. Life skills: Members build problem-solving skills, learn teamwork, and gain experience in organisation and planning. Social and emotional development: Our day offers a safe space to interact with peers, build confidence, and learn grace in both winning and losing. Embark on your journey into the vast and exciting worlds of Warhammer!
